Validebağ Korusu (Validebağ Grove) first appeared on the historical stage in the early 19th century as a vineyard house built for Mihrişah Valide Sultan, the mother of Sultan Selim III. Over time, it became known in the collective memory as Adile Sultan Palace, a sanatorium, and educational and health facilities, and today it is an integral part of Istanbul's cultural landscape.
Spanning 354 acres, the grove is home to centuries-old monumental trees, endemic plants, and over 100 bird species, playing a critical role in the city's ecological balance. It is also a habitat for butterflies, hedgehogs, turtles, and many other species.
A comprehensive signage and information system was implemented to make this heritage more visible and strengthen visitors' connection with the grove. While designing visual identity, the aim was to integrate its fauna and flora diversity, monumental trees, and historical narratives, allowing visitors to follow the traces of this holistic language.
The signs were positioned in a way that respects nature and is sustainable, ensuring they do not disrupt the integrity of the area.
